The Season of Peace
The beauty of the fall finale has ended, the seeds have been harvested and the leaves have silently and gracefully fallen. With this last season of the year, the long silent winter approaches. We think of our experiences during the year in deciding what to keep or let go and make peace with all our decisions. Winter is the most special of the seasons, for it quiets and relaxes our minds and souls which is mankind’s hibernation. This is the season of solace and solitude, which prepares us for new possibilities, balances our spirits, and with its silence,
brings us wisdom.
This is the holiday season and we will now spend time with our families and friends where we will give and receive. The holidays remind us that during our triumphs, challenges, and disappointments, we can take comfort in knowing that we endured, made it through the year and truly thankful. Because this is the “Season of Giving”, the universe asks for us to remember those who are not strong, the lonely or forgotten. Give or volunteer your time to serve our local houses of worship, community, and charitable organizations.
Winter is a time for celebration and reflection, for it brings us to a full circle. When all is calm and quiet during the holidays, sit back and relax with your favorite glass of wine and listen to John Coltrane’s version of “Favorite Things”, or Charlie Brown’s “Christmas Time Is Here”. Think of the happy and fun holiday memories of your childhood, a Christmas past that will bring a smile, and the sunny days that are ahead.
